The Künstlerhaus Schafhof and the Atelierhaus Salzamt started their cooperation in 2019.
The artist exchange program of the Schafhof takes place in cooperation with partner organizations across Europe. Artists have the opportunity to live and work at the Schafhof for one to three months. In return, Upper Bavarian artists participate in a corresponding stay in a partner country. The aim is to promote the European idea and to enrich regional cultural life.
The exhibition program focuses on the presentation of the results of the European artist exchange and thematic group shows with local and international artists as well as solo exhibitions. The large exhibition hall with its barrel vault on the second floor offers a unique atmosphere. The gallery on the ground floor is variable and is also used as a project space. Accompanying programs such as artist talks, lectures, workshops, guided tours and other events offer numerous opportunities to get to know and experience contemporary art.

Das Künstlerhaus Schafhof und das Atelierhaus Salzamt starteten 2019 ihre Kooperation.
Das Künstler*innen-Austauschprogramm des Schafhofs findet in Zusammenarbeit mit Partnerorganisationen in ganz Europa statt. Künstlerinnen und Künstler haben die Möglichkeit, für ein bis drei Monate im Schafhof zu leben und zu arbeiten. Im Gegenzug nehmen oberbayerische Künstler*innen an einem entsprechenden Aufenthalt in einem Partnerland teil. Ziel ist es, den europäischen Gedanken zu fördern und das regionale Kulturleben zu bereichern.
Im Mittelpunkt des Ausstellungsprogramms stehen die Präsentation der Ergebnisse des europäischen Künstler*innen-Austauschs und thematische Gruppenausstellungen mit lokalen und internationalen Künstler*innen sowie Einzelausstellungen. Der große Ausstellungssaal mit seinem Tonnengewölbe im zweiten Stock bietet eine einzigartige Atmosphäre. Die Galerie im Erdgeschoss ist variabel und wird auch als Projektraum genutzt. Begleitende Programme wie Künstler*innengespräche, Vorträge, Workshops, Führungen und andere Veranstaltungen bieten zahlreiche Möglichkeiten, zeitgenössische Kunst kennen zu lernen und zu erleben.
