I love you I miss you True Love Forever und das Herz ist durchstochen mit einem edlen Dolch. Rache tropft die schwarze Farbe, darüber ist HAWAII gesprayt.

Malerei und Sprache sind essentielle Werkzeuge des Arbeitsprozesses von Amanda Burzić. Schon der Titel eines Bildes gibt ihm einen weiteren Kontext. Der Kontrast dieser beiden Bedeutungen ist geprägt durch Humor, Missverständnis, Flüchtigkeit und Familiarität.
Durch die immer essentieller werdende Präsenz des Internets innerhalb Kommunikation, überschneiden sich virtuelle, öffentliche und intime Räume. Sie sucht nach Symbolik ihrer Einflüsse und verwendet Internetslang, Graffiti, Screenshots von Chatverläufen, Werbesprache, Memes und verfremdet ihren Kontext.
Sie malt auf Leinwänden, Stoffen und Kleidungsstücken. Das traditionelle Gemälde verweist auf den Ursprung des Bildes und wandert aus dem isolierten White Cube in den Kleiderschrank. Der Stoff wird losgelöst von seinem Rahmen und hängt befreit, verformt, eingefärbt und personalisiert auf einem Kleiderbügel. Wort wird zu Bild und sie gibt ihm die Berechtigung, sich nach einem Körper zu sehnen.

Longing, romance and broken hearts. Lyrics from Deutschraphits. Portraits of artist friends. “Schön dass du da bist” is written on the back of a t-shirt. I love you I miss you True Love Forever and the heart is pierced with a noble dagger. Revenge drips the black paint, HAWAII is sprayed over it.
Painting and language are essential tools in the work process of Amanda Burzić. The very title of a painting gives it a further context. The contrast between these two meanings is characterized by humor, misunderstanding, ephemerality and familiarity.
With the increasingly essential presence of the Internet within communication, virtual, public and intimate spaces overlap. She searches for symbolism of her influences and uses internet slang, graffiti, screenshots of chat histories, advertising language, memes and alienates their context.
She paints on canvas, fabrics and clothing. The traditional painting refers to the origin of the image and migrates from the isolated white cube into the clothing closet. The fabric becomes detached from its frame and hangs free, deformed, dyed and personalized on a coat hanger. Word becomes image and it gives it the right to long for a body.
