Exhibition – walks and traces …. Off the Map

Am Mittwoch, den 2. April 2014, fand die Eröffnung unserer neuesten Ausstellung im Salzamt statt. Diese Ausstellung unter dem Titel „walks and traces… Off the Map“ hätte schon im Juni letzten Jahres laufen sollen, was aber durch das Hochwasser verhindert wurde. Nun aber wurde alles nachgeholt, und unsere ehemalige Stipendiatin Sibylle Ettengruber hat sich als Kuratorin etwas ganz Neues und Ungewöhnliches ausgedacht: Alle Ausstellungswände wurden auf Holzstaffeln auf dem Boden gelegt und nahtlos zusammengeschoben. Es ergibt sich so in der Mitte des Ausstellungssaals ein weißes Podest von 18 Metern Länge und 2,5 Metern Breite. Verschiedene Künstler waren eingeladen, dieses Podest zu bespielen. Heraus kamen Video-Installationen, Zeichnungen, Grafiken sowie eine Zeichenmaschine, die, vor die Brust geschnallt, die Körperbewegungen während des Gehens oder Laufens aufzeichnet.

On Wednesday, April 2nd 2014, the opening of our latest exhibition in the Salzamt was celebrated. This exhibition with title „walks and traces… Off the Map“ should already have taken place in June of last year, but this was prevented by the flooding. But now this could be caught up. Our former stipendiary Sibylle Ettengruber as curator came up with something new and exceptional: All of our movable walls were laid down on wooden beams on the floor and pushed together to form a platform of 18 by 2.5 meters in the center of the exhibition hall. Various artists were asked to utilize this platform with their artworks. The result are video installations, drawings, graphics and a drawing machine which can be belted on in front of the chest while walking or running. In this way it will record the body movements during the various types of locomotion.
